The Amargiotakis Winery is located in Dafnes, Heraklion, Crete, in the viticultural zone of Dafnes, where several of the indigenous varieties of Crete are cultivated in privately owned and cooperating vineyards, with emphasis on the Liatiko variety, which is a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO)

The history of our Winery begins in the distant 1965 where grandfather Amargiotakis started the production of quality wines then the father with his special love of viticulture expanded the privately owned vineyards by making new plantings. A third generation winemaker, the current owner of the Winery Manolis Amargiotakis, continuing the love of his family, took over the reins of the business in 2003. In 2006 he moved to Athens to promote the winery's products but also to expand his knowledge of winemaking, curiosity and his love of wine and winemaking prompted him to visit major European wineries. Returning from a trip to France, he makes the brave decision to proceed with a complete relocation and modernization of the Winery, in 2017 this great project is completed and with his wife Eleftheria always as an ally, they begin to discover his own truth in the magical world of wine. Always choosing the best oenologists for the evolution of the winery's wines, we reach 2019 with a chemist / Oenologist Harkoutsis Giannis, the first complete series of wines of the Amargiotakis Winery was created and released on the market.

Our vision is for our Winery to contribute to the proper promotion of the Cretan vineyard since we believe that Crete is one of the most remarkable European vineyards.

Our winery cultivates 80 acres of vineyard owners with several of the indigenous grape varieties of Crete and we also have several cooperating vineyards that are controlled at all stages of grape production. We choose our bottles to be single-variety for the best highlighting of the characteristics of each variety.

We try in the winery to make proper management of all energy resources and we also do circular management of grapes by composting the marcs and returning to the vineyards. The winery is located in an ideal location at the entrance of the village Dafnes overlooking the vineyards.
